About This Role

Background UNDP works to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, and promote sustainable development. Young people are key drivers of innovation, social change, and development. The Youth Engagement Officer supports UNDP’s commitment to empowering youth and strengthening their participation in development processes. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Youth Programme Development and Implementation Design, implement, and monitor youth-focused programmes and initiatives. Support the integration of youth priorities into UNDP projects and policies. Coordinate youth-related activities aligned with national and UN priorities. Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and reporting. 2. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships Build and maintain partnerships with youth organizations, NGOs, government agencies, and private sector actors. Facilitate collaboration between young people and development partners. Represent UNDP in youth forums, networks, and events. 3. Youth Participation and Empowerment Promote meaningful participation of young people in decision-making processes. Support youth leadership, entrepreneurship, and skills development initiatives. Organize trainings, workshops, dialogues, and mentorship programmes. Strengthen platforms for youth voices and civic engagement. 4. Advocacy, Communication, and Outreach Support advocacy campaigns on youth-related development issues. Develop youth-friendly communication materials and digital content. Manage youth engagement through social media and online platforms. Document success stories and best practices. 5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting Track progress of youth programmes and activities. Collect and analyze data on youth engagement outcomes. Prepare technical reports, briefs, and presentations. Contribute to knowledge management and learning. 6. Administrative and Operational Support Provide logistical and administrative support for youth initiatives. Support procurement and financial processes related to youth projects. Ensure compliance with UNDP policies and procedures.
